Walton Raiders Varsity Fights Back in Loss to Newnan, 7-5

Walton Raiders Varsity‘s effort to come back from down five runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 7-5 to Newnan on Monday. Walton Raiders Varsity scored three runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Carl Adler, a single by Ben Anderson, and a single by Adam Haber.

Walton Raiders Varsity was right in it until Newnan in the fifth inning.

Newnan captured the lead in the second inning. Aubrey Carter doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Walton Raiders Varsity evened things up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Micaiah Williams‘s sac fly scored one run for Walton Raiders Varsity.

Dalton Anderson led things off on the mound for Newnan. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three.

David Sickles started the game for Walton Raiders Varsity. He surrendered two runs on one hit over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Ryan Wideman, Evan Carter, Ben Stoddard, and Jack Hart each entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings, one and one-third innings, one inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Sickles started the game for Walton Raiders Varsity. He allowed one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one

Walton Raiders Varsity racked up nine hits. Jared Jones and Haber each racked up multiple hits for Walton Raiders Varsity. Haber and Jones each collected two hits to lead Walton Raiders Varsity. Walton Raiders Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Harry Mintz had the most chances in the field with eight.

Carter went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Newnan in hits.
