Walton Varsity Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Ola, 8-7

Walton Raiders Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-7 victory over Ola on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Walton Raiders Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Ben Anderson tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Bats blistered as Walton Raiders Varsity collected 11 hits and Ola tallied eight in the high-scoring game.

Ola got things moving in the first inning, when Baylen Sanders drew a walk, scoring one run.

After Ola scored one run in the top of the third, Walton Raiders Varsity answered with one of their own. Ola scored when Cade Chamlee grounded out, scoring one run. Walton Raiders Varsity then answered when Adam Haber singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Rowan Park got the start for Walton Raiders Varsity. He allowed two hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two.

Nolan Sliver was on the mound for Ola. He allowed six hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Will Sims threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.

Walton Raiders Varsity collected 11 hits on the day. Anderson, Eli Pilger, and Haber each managed multiple hits for Walton Raiders Varsity. Anderson led Walton Raiders Varsity with three hits in three at bats.

Ola had eight hits in the game. Austin Merritt and Patrick all managed multiple hits for Ola.
