Coach Shane Amos is in his 35th year at Walton High School as a teacher and a coach. He’s in his 20th year as Varsity head baseball coach for the Raiders. In addition to baseball, he is also an assistant coach for Varsity football.
Coach Amos is a graduate of Osborne High School where he played as a catcher and DH. He lettered in baseball, wrestling and football. He is also a graduate of the State University of West Georgia and the University of Alabama.
From 1995 – 1997, Coach Amos coached the Pebblebrook Falcons and led them to their first playoff in 10 years. As the head coach for Walton Baseball, he has taken the Raiders to four State Finals (2016, 2015, 2008 and 2007), bringing home the State Championship in 2007 and 2016!
In 2007, 2015 and 2016, Coach Amos was named the Georgia Dugout Club Coach of the Year and also the Marietta Daily Journal Coach of the Year. In 2017 he was elected to the Georgia Dugout Hall of Fame.
He and his wife, Cathy, have been married for 30 years and have two beautiful daughters, Ashley Kate and Abby.
